Happy Friday, McKelvie! As families are getting back into a routine, we are again asking that all library books and school-issued textbooks be returned from the 2020-2021 school year. We are trying to "clean up" library accounts. If your 5th grader has any books from an elementary school in town, please send them in with your child and have them return those items to the McKelvie Library. I will make sure that we get them back to the respective elementary school. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

Overdue notices will be paperless this year. Beginning on August 31st, library overdue notices were generated via Destiny Discover. These email reminders are auto-generated on Tuesday mornings and sent to your child's school email account. Please be sure that your child checks for these weekly kind and friendly notices. Please note that the email address the notices are being generated from cannot accept replies. If you or your child have a question or concern, I can be reached at cotej@sau25.nett.

Have you had a chance to look at our McKelvie Library website? If not, please be sure to check out the many links containing useful information for reading and researching. There is a lot to look at! 👁  👁 Do you know what your child is reading for pleasure? Be sure to check in with your child and ask. They may even want to show you how to access our Destiny Discover catalog to show you our fifteen “Recently Added Books.” This ribbon is a nice way to see newly added titles!

As part of the 1:1 Chromebook program, students were asked to bring in a pair of inexpensive headphones/earbuds to use. We want to remind parents that there is an option for students to purchase a pair of inexpensive earbuds (similar in quality to what you would purchase on a plane) from the library for $1.

Have a nice weekend! ~Mrs. Cote
