Please click HERE to see an image of the completed Rubik's Cube mosaic that was completed. This mosaic is of the raccoon on the cover of The Doughnut Fix. This is the READ Project book for 2019. Permission was granted by Jessie Janowitz to recreate her cover image. Be sure to check out the hard work done by McKelvie students in just 7 days! Beginning on Monday, April 8th, during National Library Week 2019, students will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Great Stone Face Nominee. Students statewide, in grades 4-6, have an opportunity to vote. Students are encouraged to read two or more of the 20 nominees before voting. Click HERE to access the GSF page including Google Slides presentation of the 20 nominees. Students at McKelvie will have access to a Google Form voting ballot to cast their vote. Happy first weekend of spring 2019! We have been busy in the library using a product called Animoto to create book trailers with the help of our Digital Learning Specialist, Susan Cavanaugh. We have been using one of our databases, Britannica Image Quest, to locate and save images. The students in the Francis/Parolin Pod know how to get the MLA 8 citation and format it properly in a works cited document. Many skills have been gained with the creation of the book trailers! The work will continue over the next few weeks.

The big reveal was today for the 2019 McKelvie Intermediate School READ Project selection! Click HERE to view the trailer for this book. Beginning on Monday, March 18, 2019, the students will begin to listen to this book with a member of our staff. Be sure to check in with your child(ren) to see who they are in a small group with and the adult from our building who is reading with them. We are getting ready to complete a Rubik's Cube mosaic of the cover of The Doughnut Fix, our 2019 all school READ Project book. Click HERE to see an Adobe Spark of the Rubik's Cube boxes, the organization that ensued after unpacking the 225 cubes, and the book cover we will attempt to recreate with approximately 225 Rubik's Cubes.
