Wow! It is hard to believe that it is the last Friday of September! The McKelvie Library has many digital resources available for our readers and researchers! Please click HERE to access our "Digital Resouces"  page linked to the library site. This page has the links to our subscription databases and is very useful for research, locating images, as well as finding a next great fiction or nonfiction title based on a book your child has read and enjoyed. Please take a moment to read the help text below the images of the databases or the modules. These brief notes will help determine which database can best serve your child/children's needs. Please note that the usernames and passwords are in red to help with logging in. Most of these databases provide the MLA8 citation for the students. The citations just have to be copied, pasted, and formatted properly (size 12 Times New Roman font, double spaced, and the first line of the citation is left-aligned with the additional lin...

Happy Friday, McKelvie! It has been a busy week with McKelvie book deliveries and the start of "Good Fit Book" lessons! These will continue for some time to get the many classes in! The students have been browsing books with rubber gloves to keep the books as well as themselves safe and healthy. After each class, the seating spaces and dry erase markers are being sanitized. The gloves are removed as the students exit the space. They have been wonderful and I have not heard one complaint! Book browsing and borrowing is in full swing at the McKelvie Library.  Just before the first day of school, 10 "Golden Tickets" were placed inside the pages of various books in the McKelvie Library. Click HERE to see one of the signs promoting the McKelvie "Golden Tickets." There have been two "Golden Tickets" found. One was found by Mr. Crowell's daughter after he checked out some picture books to share with his two young girls. Another one was found just th...

Happy Friday, McKelvie! As families are getting back into a routine, we are asking again that all library books and school issued textbooks are returned as soon as possible! We are trying to "clean up" library accounts. Reminders have been printed and sent home with many students when they have come to the library. If your 5th grader has book(s) from an elementary school in town, please send it/them in with your child to be returned to the McKelvie Library. I will make sure that we get it/them back to their respective elementary school. Overdue notices will be paperless this year. Beginning on September 15th, library overdue notices will be generated on Tuesday mornings and sent to your child's school email account. Please be sure that your child checks for these weekly kind and friendly notices. Please note that the email address the notices are being generated from cannot accept replies. If you you have a question or concern, I can be reached at cotej@bedfordnhk12.net. ...
