Enjoy all of the fun of Halloween! Hopefully we all get more treats than tricks. It should be a fun night with a full moon, all the costumes, and then a time change to follow! Be safe and stay warm, McKelvie! 🎃

Click HERE to see a 6th grader ready for book browsing at the McKelvie Library. Thank you again for all of the rubber glove donations!

Congratulations to our 5th "Golden Ticket" winner! Yeah for Grace who located a "Golden Ticket" in her recently borrowed book. Click HERE to see Grace, her prize, as well as her special "Golden Ticket." The prize can be used towards her next great read!

Does your child need an image for a project? Please be sure to check out our "Digital Resources" page found under the "Resources" tab off of the McKelvie Library website. Britannica Image Quest is a database which provides images for educational purposes. The images are free for students to use and provide the MLA 8 citation! Mr. Brown's homeroom came to the library this past week with his social studies classes to learn how to "save image as" via their Chromebooks and then insert them into a Slides presentation. Additionally, the students learned how to format a citation using size 12, Times New Roman font, adding a "hanging indent" if the citation was two or more lines long! This lesson was co-taught by Mrs. Cavanaugh (Digital Learning Specialist) and I in the McKelvie Library.

Mrs. Opitz had her ELA classes visit this past week to learn how an Adobe Spark flyer could enhance the 6-word memoirs which she had her students write. These graphics really added a nice touch to the memoirs and the students learned the tools in Adobe to personalize their flyers.

This is a friendly reminder that overdue notices are now being auto-generated on Tuesday mornings at 7:00. Please help your child(ren) to keep their Destiny Library account up-to-date and accurate! If a book is due on a day your child does not attend school due to the hybrid schedule, please have them return it the next day they are in school. With the unique schedule in mind, we are being flexible but know that many of the book(s) your child(ren) have out are put on hold by others. Your support is appreciated.

The quarter is ending and as a result, bills will be generated and sent via US Mail for any missing textbooks or library books from last March 13, 2020 to June 5, 2020. I would much rather have the book or textbook than the fee which will be assessed for missing books, so if one or more are located that belong to McKelvie, please return them as soon as possible.

Have a safe and fun weekend, McKelvie! ~Mrs. Cote 📚
